The Palestinian Solar and Sustainable Energy Society (PSSES) is a Palestinian non-governmental organization working to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency in Palestine. It was founded in 2008 by activists, researchers, experts, producers, community leaders, and former directors of various institutions who share a commitment to expanding the use of clean energy in Palestine.
We believe that renewable energy can give deprived Palestinian communities access to low-cost energy and help them remain on their land. We also work to promote local and national legislation and policies that encourage reliance on renewable energy as a primary energy source, and the adoption of energy efficiency to rationalize energy consumption.
Our experience covers solar energy, energy efficiency, water purification, biogas systems, and environmentally friendly technologies for the agricultural sector. PSSES is a member of the Global Solar Council.
Using renewable energy as a driver of sustainable development across all Palestinian communities.
Advocating for incentive policies that encourage investors and individuals to use and invest in renewable energy.
Raising awareness among Palestinians about the benefits and uses of clean and renewable energy.
Contributing to the mitigation of climate change by expanding the use of clean energy and energy efficiency.
